We can find ourselves in the story of Mephibosheth … he was born under the shadow of the house of Saul, lame in both feet, living in Lo-Debar (which means without pasture) which was on the wilderness side of the Jordan river and he viewed himself as worthless. But David called him to come to the king’s table where he took a seat as one of the king’s sons and had his lost inheritance restored. We were all lost in the sin of Adam, unable to “walk” (perform) our way to the King’s table, living in the wilderness and feeling worthless … but then, Jesus called our name and carried us to His table where He seated us as sons of God and made us joint heirs with Him. Grace has truly carried us to the table of the Lord!
