Times of solitude and silence were a part of Jesus’ walk on the earth. Jesus would often pull away to a secluded place to pray and commune with His heavenly Father. Making time for these moments in our own walk with the Lord is so important for us also. It is not something we do that is to be religious or ritual, but relational and life giving. It is a time to rest and refresh away from the noise and crowds, to talk and listen to the heart of our savior. We are never alone when our solitude and silence is in Christ!
